The RFRP Farrowing Shelter has been developed through real, hands-on farming experience. Every feature is built to protect piglets, support the sow, and make day-to-day management straightforward.

Piglet Protection Features
Dedicated creep area positioned at the rear of the shelter
Creep bars fitted alongside walls to reduce piglet mortality
Removable W-strap beneath the steel door to keep piglets contained during the first week of life
Removal indicator system when piglets begin jumping
The creep area is especially useful during difficult farrowings, allowing safe intervention without disturbing the sow.

Shelters are designed to be relocated after each farrowing to fresh ground and pressure cleaned for biosecurity.

All water supply components are integrated into the shelter for ease of operation and consistent supply.
Materials & Options
These shelters are constructed using second-hand cool room panels. Panels may contain minor cosmetic defects such as sealed drill holes, light dents, or scratches.
All drill holes are sealed with silicone during construction. Each shelter is pressure cleaned and sprayed with Virkon-S on completion.
New cool room panels are available at an additional cost per shelter.
